Team Spirit Activated! Taikoo Place’s high-energy staple team challenge returns on 10 November 2023 as part of the “Taikoo Place Wellness Series”. Building on the success of previous iterations, this year promises to be even more exciting to activate our wellness in the name of charity. Held once again at ArtisTree in Taikoo Place, the Charity Spin is a continual eight-hour relay race on professional indoor bikes. Team spirit plays a pivotal role during the day-long affair, and in keeping the wheels turning for a good cause. The Charity Spin is designed to offer Taikoo Place office tenants exciting opportunities to bring wellness – and collaboration – into the everyday workplace conversation. Come and support seasoned cyclists and newbies alike, be it your own corporate team, or one from your neighbouring office. Get your team spirit activated again this year!

Online Donation
Thank you to all donors for their generosity. Over HK$310,000 was raised – of which HK$150,000 was donated by Swire Properties – to support InspiringHK Sports Foundation, a local charity organisation that provides sports development support to youths in Hong Kong.

About eligibility
Q: What are the joining criteria? A: You will need to form a corporate team to represent your firm. Each team will be composed of at least 4 riders up to 30 riders, one of whom will be nominated as the team captain. They must all be from the same company and currently working in an office in Taikoo Place.
Whilst there’s no registration fee, we encourage you to donate generously and compete to win the Highest Fundraising Team Award. About the race
Q: How long does each team need to race on the day? A: The race day is exactly eight hours and the goal is to spin non-stop between your teammates. Each corporate team will be provided with one professional road bike. Riders can take up multiple relays within the 8-hour racing period. Q: Are there awards and prizes? A: The winning teams will be recognised in different categories including The Highest Fundraising Team Award and The Longest Distance Completed Awards. Awards will be presented at the end of the race day on 10 November 2023. Event official photographer will be arranged to take pictures/videos at the award ceremony. They’ll also be on-site throughout the day to capture your best moments. Q: Are there changing and shower facilities available? A: Racers will be given a wristband upon signing in on the race day in ArtisTree. Simply present the valid wristband and request access to the changing and shower facilities at the below venues (only available on the race day only): - Joint Dynamics - 12/F, Dorset House (From 09:30-12:30 & 14:30-18:00) - PURE Fitness - 2/F, One Taikoo Place (From 14:00-18:00) - PURE Yoga - 4/F, Lincoln House (From 14:00-18:00) Q: I’m not a rider but I want to turn up to show my support to colleagues. Can I attend? A: Yes, absolutely. Download the Taikoo Place app and register as a Taikoo Place tenant user for admission. Crowd control may apply by the organiser where necessary.
About preparing for the race
Q: What should I prepare before the race? A: Participating teams will be invited to attend the event briefing session on 3 November 2023 where riders will find out everything they need to know to get ready. Q: What should I wear on race day? A: You are recommended to wear suitable sportswear that works for you. To bolster your team spirit, you are more than welcome to rock up in your company branded kit! About donation
Q: How do I arrange donations to support my team? A: To donate at the Corporate Wellness Challenge: 8-Hour Charity Spin, please browse the dedicated webpage of SimplyGiving, the designated donation platform of InspiringHK Sports Foundation, and select the corporate team you’d like to support. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions as guided. You’ll receive a confirmation email when the donation is successful. Q: When can I make my donation online and can I donate after the Charity Spin event is over? A: Donation will open until the deadline of 5pm, 10 November 2023.
Terms and Conditions - Participants must be an employee of Taikoo Place offices* throughout the enrolment and event period (November 2023). *Taikoo Place offices include: Berkshire House, Cambridge House, Devon House, Dorset House, Lincoln House, One Island East, One Taikoo Place, Oxford House, PCCW Tower and Two Taikoo Place. - Swire Properties Limited (“the organiser”) reserves the right to disqualify or exclude any person from the race who has provided incorrect personal data / details on the entry form. - A briefing session will be held on 3 November 2023 where more details will be available. - The donation will go InspiringHK Sports Foundation, a local charity organisation. - The organiser shall have no liability towards the acceptance of the event donation proceeds. - Participants should ensure that their health conditions are suitable for the strenuous race. In case of doubt, please seek medical advice in advance. - The event includes flashing lights and loud music. If participants feel unwell or discomfort, please inform the staff on-site for assistance. - The organiser reserves the right and at its sole discretion to suspend any participant who appears or is suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event. - The event will be cancelled when tropical cyclone warning signal no.8 or above, or if a black rainstorm signal is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory at 7am or thereafter on the event day (10 November 2023). - If inclement Weather / Condition Warnings are issued after the commencement of the event, the organiser has the right to stop the race. - Should the event be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond the control of the organiser or in the case of a force majeure resulting in the event being cancelled, raised funds will go to the event’s official beneficiary. The organiser shall have no other responsibilities and / or liabilities. - All persons are responsible for their own safety and must comply with the rules and regulations of the venue. - The organiser reserves the right of final decision for final race results and judgment of appeal. - Prizes are not exchangeable, transferrable, or redeemable for cash or other goods, and cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional offers. - The organiser reserves the right of all photos and videos taken on the event day for future promotions, uses and references. - The organiser reserves the final right to interpret and amend the above regulations without any prior notification or announcement. - Any changes or contingent measures for the event announced by the organiser and posted on the organiser’s website and Facebook page shall prevail.
